Does Composite Get Too Hot?
While some composites can get very hot to walk on most do not have this problem. Many of the ‘brand name’ products are designed to reduce heat to keep the flooring comfortable for walking on.
When do I need a Permit?
Typically all decks that are 2 feet or greater in height require a permit. This is the standard in most municipalities across Southern Ontario.
What is The Process of Having a Deck Built?
A generally over view is, first a permit is drawn and submitted for approval. Once approved holes are dug for the concrete footings that support the deck and are inspected by the city to insure they are in fact the required depth and width. Once this is all completed work can start on the deck and be completed. Lastly the inspector will come to do a final inspection to insure the deck is up to specification and that it follows the permit. After all this your deck is ready to enjoy!
Do You Install Low Voltage Lighting?
Yes! We offer options for low voltage lighting. Some examples are stair lighting, illuminated railing, post lights, BBQ lights, etc. Most systems are plug-in and don’t require electrical work. Most systems are based off water proof twist connectors.
What Do I need to Have a Fence Installed?
It is a common misconception that a permit is required for a fence project, in fact it is not. Fences however require an outline from the city of your property line so that the fence can be placed on top of the property line. The main restriction on fencing is an 8 foot height limit.
